The Remontados is the official debating society of Ateneo de Naga University which represents Ignatian pool of debaters. Remontados is not just an ordinary debating society but an organization which takes part in tackling and solving socio-political issues eminent in the society. The organization has taken part in PPCRV’s forums as well as Pugadlawin’s projects. For years now, the Remontados continues to make itself known in the national and local debating community. It has won and continues to defend several cups and titles such as San Buenaventura Cup and Roco Cup among others. Remontados had already been part of ANC’s Frankahan, a casual debate forum hosted by ABS-CBN News Channel. Aside from that, the organization continues to assist schools and debating societies in introducing them to the debate community. As proof to its consistent maintenance in debating excellence, the Remontados had organized Xavier Cup-the first South Luzon Debate Tournament in Asians where various institutions from South Luzon vied for the 1st ever Xavier Cup.

Adopt-A-School project is a new project being executed by ExeCom’10. Such aims to help blooming debate societies (within reach) in their trainings as well as assist institutions in establishing their identity in the local debate community. Every month, the Remontados would adopt an institution and help their debating societies with a specialized debate training program (debater and adjudicator) which is good for 8 days (training every weekend) or more. Incorporated in this project is Xavier Cup, South Luzon-wide debate tournament in Asians, wherein adopted debate societies would gather and test their debating skills. Such culminating activity does not only measure the adopted institutions’ debate abilities but at the same time aims to introduce the debate groups to other debating societies as well.
